Meet Molly Cox, president and CEO of SA2020, the nonprofit whose mission is to turn San Antonio’s community vision developed in 2010 into a reality.
Originally from Corpus Christi, Molly spent many years in San Antonio visiting her grandmother. It was during these trips Molly’s grandma shared her love of literature, musicals and Shakespeare with her. From a young age Molly learned the power of words and how they can move, inspire and create action in herself and others.
Molly’s passion for community engagement prompted her move to San Antonio in 2006 where she began working towards her master’s degree in political science from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While at UTSA she worked as the Director of UTSA’s Center for Policy Studies, a position that led to her pursuing a career in nonprofit capacity building.
In 2010 San Antonio residents created a vision of what their city should look like in ten years. Eleven areas were identified for improvement and make up the SA2020 vision. Areas identified include education, arts and culture, transportation and downtown development to name a few. Today, Molly is the president and CEO of SA2020 where she helps ensure progress toward accomplishing this vision of San Antonio continues.
At Cadillac, we celebrate those whose passion and vision have reshaped our city, our lives and our culture - including Cox’s vibrant and enthusiastic spirit.
Her passion makes her one of the innovative and original persons shaping San Antonio.
